Outlive Your Life by Max Lucado

In Outlive Your Life, Max Lucado opens our eyes to the problems before us and the statistics are heart breaking - 1.75 billion living in poverty, 1 billion hungry, children orphaned by war and disease, and the list goes on and on. Many on this earth are hurting. The needs are many.

But what can I do? Can God use me?
In the book of Acts, we see the world being turned upside down by the explosion of Christianity onto the scene. Who led this charge? Did God choose only the best and the brightest? No, he chose fishermen, tax collectors, harlots, and sinners of every shape and size. In other words, unqualified, everyday folks just like you and me.

God equipped these workers of his with new hearts full of love and compassion, feet to go, hands to give, and mouths to proclaim the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Simple fishermen became fishers of men. Tax collectors became givers. Everyday people began meeting everyday needs. Changed lives began changing lives.

In Outlive Your Life we are convicted and encouraged to continue the mission. Max exhorts us to come out of our shells, see the needs, break down barriers, and help the hurting. We can outlive our lives. God wants us to and will enable us to when we take the initiative to respond.

If your wondering if Max Lucado practices what he preaches, you will be delighted to know that all of his royalties from this book will go to “benefit children and families through World Vision and other ministries of faith-based compassion.”

I’d like to thank Thomas Nelson Publishers for sending me this free copy for review.
